  • Sinusitis

It helps clear nasal passages and temporarily relieves stuffy nose so you can breathe easier.

What is the active ingredient in Nafasolina?

+

Nafasolina contains Naphazoline Hydrochloride 0.05% as its active ingredient. Naphazoline is a nasal decongestant that works by shrinking swollen nasal passages to help you breathe more easily.

What size does Nafasolina come in?

+

Nafasolina is available in a convenient 0.5 FL OZ (15 mL) bottle, perfect for home use or travel.

Usage and Dosage

How do I use Nafasolina?

+

For adults and children 12 years and older:

  • Apply 2-3 drops in each nostril
  • Do not use more often than every 6 hours
  • Do not exceed 4 doses in any 24-hour period

For detailed step-by-step instructions, please visit our How to Use page.

How long can I use Nafasolina?

+

Do not use Nafasolina for more than 3 consecutive days. Frequent or prolonged use may cause nasal congestion to recur or worsen (a condition called "rebound congestion"). If your symptoms persist after 3 days, stop use and consult a doctor.

Can children use Nafasolina?

+

Nafasolina should not be used in children under 12 years of age. The product may cause sedation if accidentally swallowed by young children. Always keep out of reach of children. If you are looking for nasal decongestant options for children under 12, please consult with your pediatrician or pharmacist.

Can I share my Nafasolina bottle with family members?

+

No, you should not share your Nafasolina bottle with others. Use of the container by more than one person may spread infection. Each person should have their own bottle.

Safety and Warnings

Who should not use Nafasolina?

+

Ask a doctor before use if you have:

  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Thyroid disease
  • Diabetes
  • Difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland

Do not use in children under 12 years of age. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.

What are the possible side effects?

+

Temporary discomfort may occur, including:

  • Burning or stinging sensation
  • Sneezing
  • Increase in nasal discharge

These side effects are usually mild and temporary. If symptoms persist or worsen, stop use and consult a doctor.

What is "rebound congestion"?

+

Rebound congestion (also called rhinitis medicamentosa) occurs when nasal decongestants are used for too long. The nasal passages become dependent on the medication, and congestion actually worsens when you stop using it. This is why it is important to never use Nafasolina for more than 3 consecutive days.
